Infant Formula

Parenting, breastfeeding, the mother, formula, feeding baby

Formulas:

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, babies under 12 months of age should be fed breast milk or infant formula. No other type of milk provides all nutrients in amounts required to achieve optimal growth. The companies in question uses breast milk as a standard and a product, usually based cow's milk, which contains proteins, fats and carbohydrates in a ratio close to breast milk. Then add vitamins, minerals and other ingredients to the final product as close as possible to human milk. As the ongoing investigation reveals factors in breast milk that were not known previously, manufacturers of pharmaceutical products infant formula to add, and announce the product as "new" or "improved." Some recent additions are ARA and DHA. Read labels carefully to know what is in the brand you buy. When choosing a formula for your baby, is usually best to start with one that is milk because they are tolerated by most of babies and are less expensive than specialized formulas. If your baby does not tolerate its formula, consult your doctor about which one to try next. Although the formulas Soy contains all the nutrients needed to sustain growth, they also contain phytoestrogens that may affect the baby's growth and development, and hinder the absorption of zinc and calcium. According to a report by the FDA in the U.S. AAP "healthy term infants should be granted only if the formula Soy is medically necessary. (Http: / www.fda.gov/Fdac/features/596_baby.html /) specialized formulas for children allergies are more expensive and must be used on the recommendation of a pediatrician.

Bottles:

If you feed your baby formula, you will have bottles, pacifiers (dummies) and a brush for effective cleaning. There are many types and styles of bottles available, and what you choose depends on your preferences.
Bottles with disposable bags are easy enough to use and easy to clean, but are more expensive than other types, since the packages must be purchased during the months that your baby uses a bottle. Plastic bottles are light, and most are easy to clean with hot soapy water and a brush. In recent months, news has warned about the possible risks of a chemical called leaching bisphenol A or BPA in the milk of plastic baby bottles when heated, and in the lining of the box the formula comes in. While the FDA states that plastic bottles are not safe for babies, you may want to research the different brands to see which are considered to be safer before buying bottles for your baby. A Google search is the list of brands that are free of BPA.

Different babies better with different types of nipples. You must choose those with a slow flow from the beginning, especially for very young baby. If the milk flows too fast baby can drown, or get some fresh air too. Sure to replace the nipples used to that do not break during breastfeeding. Sometimes a baby is teething can bite the nipple and the cause of small pieces to break, to inspect regularly.

Preparation:

Infant formula is available in three forms: ready to eat, concentrate and powder. Ready to serve is easier to use. It can be stored at room temperature until the box opens, and gives the baby as it comes straight from the box. It is, without however, expensive compared with other types. The other two types of formula must be mixed with water before meals. It is very important to read the instructions on the box to ensure that adds just the right amount of water and the baby gets milk or too thin (which could lead to malnutrition), or too concentrated (which might be difficult in the kidneys of the baby.) Some pediatricians (and the World Health Organization) recommend boil water before using it for a baby. Other doctors believe it is possible use tap water directly, as has been proven safe. If you are unsure, consult your pediatrician. Powdered milk is not sterile, and in recent months, reports have warned against the potential contamination of certain phrases as Enterobacter sakazakii, a bacteria that can cause infections in all ages, but babies (less than 1 month of age) and premature babies are more at risk. The World Health Organization recommends that the formula given to these children are ready to feed or concentrate. If milk powder should be used for a newborn, should be prepared with boiling water or heated almost to boiling, then cooled before feeding to kill bacteria, if present. Once ready, the formula must be refrigerated or kept cold on ice until the baby is fed. Discard any unused in the bottle after the meal, because bacteria multiply rapidly in warm milk. Heat the bottle in the microwave is not recommended, because the "points hot "that can burn a baby can occur. If you use a microwave, be sure to shake the bottle to mix the formula completely. (Microwave has never expressed breast milk because it would kill the living cells that protect the baby against the disease.)

Baby Food:

Lunchtime is very important in terms of your baby emotionally and social welfare. Always hold your baby in his arms to give a bottle, and close embrace. This is a good time to talk to your baby look in his eyes and see the smile and interact with you. Your head should be slightly higher, because most of the nipple flow the bottle fast enough to drown a baby lying flat when swallowed. When feeding a newborn, to detain and treat to burp your baby every ounce or two. When the baby grows, you can buy in large quantities without burping. Ask your pediatrician at the amount of formula to feed your baby. Do not force him to finish a bottle, if you stop drinking and general laws. Most babies know what they need, and overeating may predispose to obesity more later. Never the proposal of a bottle by the danger of suffocation, do not put your baby to bed with a bottle. The milk teeth left in the night morning tooth decay.

However, your baby is fed, mealtime should be very comfortable and enjoyable for both.
